Why should a Christian get involved in government in a nation? From the beginning, God created man to govern the earth and this includes the political spheres in society. Many men of God in the Bible were used by Him to exercise political roles and to be light in their nation. Today, the call is for this generation of Christians to enter and be light in every area of society.
